Rapid prototyping is a group of techniques used to quickly fabricate a scale model of a physical part.
If any part of a model you design needs to exactly fit an existing model or item, reverse engineering this part can be costly.
However by scanning parts or elements of an existing item, we can create an exact physical map. From this map, we then extract the areas where the new model must match as entities, or partial scans. These contain all the dimensions necessary to create a perfectly fitting model, and are much easier to use.
In addition, we can simplify the mesh on some areas of 3D scans to make the 3D model easier to manipulate.
To confirm that the scanned data really matches your object perfectly, we can recreate your model and the original on our 3D printers or CNC machine, and you can try them out at once. This way you can be 100% sure your model is fit for purpose.
